Arkab is a Finland based company focused on public space design and town renewal. Most projects are completed through interdisciplinary collaboration with architects, artists, financial consultants, and engineers. We believe that involving designers and experts from different fields will lead to best possible solutions to meet our clients’ needs.

Most recently we have designed improvement and renewal plans to rural villages around China. Most of these design requests have come directly from local Chinese authorities, and some from private investors. These designs have been completed in collaboration with Chinese consulting companies, which is crucial to reach a feasible and realizable design.

As outsiders to these remote project areas, we believe it is our responsibility to try our best to understand the local people and their way of life. Discovering the unique cultural, historic, and architectural qualities of each village establishes the very staring point of each project. Our research also includes the climate and water conditions, existing greenery, and local agriculture, which are key elements leading to viable and effortlessly maintained public space and landscape design.
